This pickup truck is ready to work and has a strong engine lineup, plenty of interior space, and easy-to-use technology features. The Silverado 1500 also improved its turbodiesel engine to produce more horsepower and torque, and the ZR2 Bison package debuted for the 2023 model year. In addition, their trims are available on the Silverado 1500: WT, Custom, LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.
Performance
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has an engine for every lifestyle. There are four engine options; the base engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, available on the WT, Custom, LT, RST, and Trail Boss. The other three engines are:
- A turbodiesel 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque is available on the LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.
- A 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 engine with 383 lb-ft of torque is available on the WT, LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.
- The RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2 also have the option of the 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Rear-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission are standard on the Silverado 1500, while four-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This pickup truck can tow up to 13,300 pounds when properly equipped.
The Silverado 1500 has three bed options: 8 feet long bed, 6 feet 6-inch standard bed, and a 5 feet 8-inch short bed.
Interior
Depending on which cabin configuration you choose affects how many passengers the Silverado 1500 can hold. For example, the standard Regular Cab can seat three occupants, while the Double Cap and Crew Cab can seat five to six people. The Double and Crew Cab also have the option for front captain’s chairs instead of the three-person front bench.
The interior is also paired with standard features like a 7-inch touchscreen and a 3.5-inch digital display embedded in the analog gauge cluster; however, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen are available. Other standard features include a two- or six-speaker stereo, wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, two USB ports, among others.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Silverado 1500 is also equipped with several standard safety and driver-assistance features like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, teen driver, pedestrian detection, rear-seat alert, forward automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist.
